All Clear After Hydrant Rupture On Telegraph Canyon Road
A driver crashed into a fire hydrant this morning, and the roadway was closed.
CHULA VISTA, CA -- Part of a busy roadway in Chula Vista was briefly closed this morning after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant.
No one was injured in the crash alongside westbound Telegraph Canyon Road near Paseo Ranchero around 6 a.m., but a "very large water geyser'' shot up into the air, according to a Chula Vista police statement. Investigators did
not suspect the driver was under the influence at the time.
The crash and resulting flooding prompted police to close westbound Telegraph Canyon Road between Paseo Ranchero and Paseo Ladera, but the lanes have since been reopened.
