SAN DIEGO, CA — The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards said Sesame Place San Diego renewed its Certified Autism Center designation for a second time after at least 80% of front-facing staff completed current autism and sensory training.
The park offers amenities to support autistic and sensory-sensitive guests, including quiet rooms and low-sensory rooms, ride accessibility programs, sensory guides for rides and shows, noise-canceling headphones for single-day use, low-sensory parade viewing and dining options, and Family Care Centers with adult changing tables.
"Creating truly inclusive experiences takes more than a single initiative; it requires an ongoing commitment to understanding and responding to the needs of every guest," said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES CEO and board chairman.
