Southwestern College Lockdown Lifted: UPDATE
The Chula Vista campus had been placed on lockdown Monday due to a reported sighting of a possibly armed man, campus officials say.

CHULA VISTA, CA – Southwestern College in Chula Vista was briefly placed on lockdown Monday due to a reported sighting of a possibly armed man, campus officials said.
According to a social media post by the campus, an armed subject believed to be a Bontia Vista High student was spotted on campus. Chula Vista police worked with campus police to search the area for the suspect, but by 2:15 p.m., police lifted the lockdown, believing the man had left the site.

Police searched for a tall black or hispanic male last seen wearing a black shirt, jeans and a Dodgers jacket, according to officials on Twitter. If you see someone matching this description, contact campus police at 619-216-6691 or 911.

College police is working with Chula Vista PD to locate the subject. The college will shelter in place until campus police gives the clear.
