The DEH lifted the water contact closure Friday for the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Border Field State Park shorelines after recent testing confirmed the water quality met state health standards, the agency said in a statement.

Water quality testing conducted by DEH confirmed that recent Tijuana River flows were no longer impacting these beaches. The area was closed to water contact due to sewage-contaminated flows from the Tijuana River entering the United States.
