Getting Pulled Over, in Imperial Beach

A traffic stop is never fun, for most drivers it's a shocking event.

If and when it happens to you, PLEASE DO NOT panic like the driver in this photo did yesterday in front of my office on Palm Avenue!  Please?

Occupational hazards of an insurance agent include pet peeves about how other people drive.  I guess it's because we know how much each ticket costs to insure and how long you have to pay for them.

From my insurance office in Imperial Beach, my pet peeves are realized nearly every day.

Yesterday's event, for instance, when the driver in the attached photo was pulled over by a local deputy sheriff in front of my office, did the driver pull over safely? 

No, of course not. 

For no apparent reason, the driver decided to stop in the middle of a turn, blocking pedestrians on the sidewalk, and cars from entering and exiting businesses, and the driver could have received an additional ticket for doing so...

...that is, after the handcuffs were removed...

Folks, when you are pulled over by law enforcement, the correct method is to pull over to a legal, and safe place to park. 

If you park like this driver, you'll immediately be suspected of driving under the influence of something...

On the other hand, if you pull over and park safely, you will avoid the additional ticket and your 'law enforcement interaction' will go smoother than the driver featured in this post.
