Chula Vista Scooter Victim Identified

A 26-year-old man killed after being struck by a car while riding a motorized scooter early Saturday has been identified.

CHULA VISTA, CA – A 26-year-old man killed after being struck by a car while riding a motorized scooter early Saturday was identified as Esteban Antonio Ramon Galindo, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner.

The crash occurred about 4 a.m. in the 1400 block of Third Avenue near the intersection of Quintard Street.

"The victim was transported to the Emergency Department of UCSD Medical Center where, despite aggressive life-saving measures, he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead," the Medical Examiner said.

The victim's residence was not named.

The driver remained at the scene following the crash and cooperated with investigators.

Chula Vista Police said drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
