The Mar Vista High School Mariners lost to the Chula Vista High School Spartans 5-3 Wednesday in Varsity Baseball action at Mar Vista. The Mariners went down 5-0 in the first inning but clawed their way back in the contest.
The team had three chances to tie the score, but base running mistakes cost the Mariners dearly on the afternoon.
The Mariners will visit the Spartans Friday at Chula Vista High School. Both teams will play their final games of the season May 15.
