Drug Take Back Day: Where To Drop Off Prescription Medications In Imperial Beach
The service is free and anonymous.
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA — The San Diego County Sheriff's Office will collect unwanted and expired prescription medications April 25 as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at multiple locations across the county, including in Imperial Beach. The service is free and anonymous. No sharps or needles will be accepted.
Officials said the effort aims to prevent misuse of medications that could pose a danger if they fall into the wrong hands.

Sheriff's deputies will be available to accept medications at several sites, including stations in Alpine, Encinitas, Fallbrook, Imperial Beach, Poway, Ramona, Rancho San Diego and San Marcos.
Residents who cannot attend the event may drop off unwanted prescriptions year-round at any sheriff's station or substation during normal business hours, according to the sheriff's office.

- Encinitas Scripps Hospital: 354 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas
- Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation: 388 East Alvarado St., Fallbrook
- Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation: 845 Imperial Beach Blvd., Imperial Beach
- Poway Sheriff's Station: 13100 Bowron Road, Poway
- Ramona Sheriff's Substation (Albertson's): 1459 Main St., Ramona
- Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station: 11486 Campo Road, Spring Valley
- San Marcos Sheriff's Station: 182 Santar Place, San Marcos
