FIRST EVER: Bike to Work Day in Imperial Beach

In partnership with SANDAG's iCommute, State Farm was Imperial Beach's first ever "Pit Stop" for San Diego's rescheduled National Bike to Work Day.

Two employees were seen manning a Pit Stop outside Tracey Rivera's Palm Avenue State Farm where I interviewed them about the event. (See video)

This event was originally scheduled to take place two weeks ago, but was postponed, as were most athletic events throughout the area, due to poor air quality after the recent brush fires.

Almost 100 pit stops will be operating around the county providing riders with free refreshments, T-shirts and encouragement.

Some pit stops were to open as early as 5:30 a.m. and set to re-open in the afternoon to serve riders returning home from work., according to SANDAG.
