JUST BEFORE I GO arrives on DVD and On Demand!
Avaliable on Bluray and On Demand from Anchor Bay Entertainment from Friends director Courtney Cox comes an unusual comedy.
This film tells the story of 40-something Ted Morgan (Seann William Scott), a man who has been dealing with his life one moment at a time. When discovering his wife is leaving, Ted thinks he has nothing left to life for so he decides to stop it all. Before he does, there is one thing Ted needs to do - that’s return home and set things right.
Moving in with his brother Lucky (Garret Dillahunt) and sleep-sex-walking wife Kathleen (Kate Walsh), Ted had no idea there lives were in a mess! What he doesn’t expect is meeting Greta (Olivia Thirby), a headstrong young woman who doesn’t take any guff from Ted and calls him out whenever possible but is equally as screwed up as everyone else.
Every time Ted thinks he is getting closer to cleaning the slate of his life - chaos isn’t far behind!

Scott as Ted is actually the straight man of the film to my way of thinking. Although he gets a few jokes in here and there, he mainly looks shocked at the outrageous behavior of everyone around him. He has the amazing ability to make his character look vulnerable one minute and completely overwhelmed by the craziness the next. I think there were actually a few times when his character’s jaw drops and mine as well - of course followed by laughter.
Dillahunt as Lucky is funny as a husband who is completely sucked into his wife’s crazy behavior but accepting at the same time. Walsh as wife Kathleen has some serious issues feeling sexually neglected apparently as well as dulled out by her life. I have to say that watching her continual bedroom scenes with Scott got funnier and funnier!

Thirby as Greta is probably the one person I felt like was being totally honest character speaking. Yes, each had their flaws and insecurities but Thirby’s character was the most honest about it all.
Other cast includes: Kyle Gallner, Rob Riggle, Evan Ross, Cleo King, Missy Pyle, Elisha Cuthbert and an apperance by David Arquette.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give JUST BEFORE I GO three and a half tubs of popcorn out of five. This is definetly a film for adults with its content and humor so know that straight off. That being said there are so many hilarious scenes and lines in the film. The cast play off one another so well which make the comedy flow fast and furious. Perhaps my twisted sense of humor is what kept me watching because I caught my self giggling constantly.
Courtney Cox brings her own brand of directorial humor to the film. Using comedy she also takes on the dramatic moments in life. Working with ex-husband David Arquette, Cox says, “it’s so nice to direct someone you know so well because you know their go-tos and you know what they fall back on…I really liked working with him. David was really open — all the actors were — they really put a lot of trust in me, which was great!”
In the end - ending it all was just the beginning.
