Man Shot Outside South Bay Restaurant
The victim told police he had an alercation with the suspect in the parking lot.
CHULA VISTA, CA – A man was shot during an altercation outside a Japanese restaurant in Chula Vista, police said.
Dispatchers received a call around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday from a person in the 1200 block of Third Avenue who reported hearing the sound of gunshots, Chula Vista police Lt. Chris Kelley said.
Officers arrived in the area and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Kelley said.

The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life- threatening, the lieutenant said.
The victim told officers there was a confrontation between him and the suspect in the parking lot outside the Izakaya Naruto restaurant, then the suspect opened fire, Kelley said.

Chula Vista police were investigating the shooting.
