Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Crash With Pickup In San Ysidro

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.

SAN YSIDRO, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he crashed into a pickup on a road in San Ysidro, police said Wednesday.

It happened shortly before 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of West San Ysidro Boulevard, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

A 34-year-old man was riding a Honda 250R motorcycle westbound in the left lane of West San Ysidro Boulevard when a 57-year-old man driving a Dodge Ram pickup eastbound on the road made a left turn onto northbound Cottonwood Road in front of the motorcyclist, who collided with the side of the pickup, Buttle said.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, Buttle said.

The Dodge driver, who was uninjured, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, Buttle said.

Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, Buttle said.
