Service to Some MTS Bus Routes Halted Wednesday by Failed Labor Negotiations

MTS Access and some Sorrento Valley Coaster Connections were also affected by the work stoppage that began Wednesday morning.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Some Metropolitan Bus Routes stopped running Wednesday morning after unionized drivers voted against a labor contract.

Members of Teamster Local 542 who are not directly employed by MTS did not approve the most recent labor agreement offer from their employer, First Transit, Tuesday night.

Trolleys and the vast majority of the 95 bus routes operated by MTS are not affected, the public transportation provider advised.
