Tutor Accused of Sex With Male Student to Stand Trial
Alejandro Rodriguez, a former tutor Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA: A 20-year-old tutor at Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach charged with having unlawful sex with an underage male student must stand trial on four felony charges, a Chula Vista judge ruled Thursday.
Alejandro Rodriguez faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Rodriguez was arrested March 9 and posted $60,000 bail.

The alleged sexual assaults occurred on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 of this year, according to a criminal complaint.
A judge set a readiness conference for June 30 and trial was scheduled for Aug. 15.

Two other men who worked at Mar Vista High, Edward Aaron Mendoza and Martin Albert Gallegos, have also been charged in separate cases with having sex with students.
Mendoza, a former football coach, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a ninth-grade girl.
Gallegos, a former ROTC instructor at Mar Vista, is accused of having sex with a 12th-grade female student on multiple occasions.
