Vietnam Vets Invited Today To 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony

Veterans, families and the public are invited to the event which begins at 11 a.m. at Scottish Rite Center.

SAN DIEGO , CA - Vietnam War Veterans are invited today to a free ceremony to recognize, honor and thank them for their service.

The commemorative event will begin at 11 a.m. at the Scottish Rite Event Center in Mission Valley (1895 Camino del Rio South, San Diego). The ceremony is part of the national U.S.A. Vietnam War Commemoration that is being observed this year on the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Nine million American patriots served and 58,000 lost their lives during the Vietnam War period.

The program will feature a ceremony with presentation of Vietnam Veteran lapel pins, displays from the Veterans Museum at Balboa Park, Veteran benefits and resource information booths, and refreshments. Vietnam Veterans, families and the general public are invited.

The event is hosted by the local VA offices: VA San Diego Healthcare System, San Diego VA Benefits Regional Office, Fort Rosecrans and Miramar Cemeteries and the Vet Centers.
