LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — A private school in La Cañada Flintridge went on lockdown Wednesday after getting a telephone bomb threat, authorities said.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Crescenta Valley station, staff at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, a private Catholic school for girls at 440 Saint Katherine Drive, alerted deputies at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday that the school had placed itself on lockdown as a precautionary measure after receiving the threat.
Deputies responded to the scene, but by early afternoon no suspects had been located and no violence or injuries had been reported, according to the sheriff's department.
Parents were alerted through the school's emergency system with instructions on when and where to pick up students.
