Authorities Working to ID'd Charred Remains from Crash Off Angeles Forest Highway Near La Cañ​ada Flintridge

The vehicle caught fire, and the body was burned, according to the coroner's office.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE - Authorities Tuesday worked to identify a person who died in the crash of a vehicle off the side of Angeles Forest Highway in the Angeles National Forest north of La Cañada Flintridge.

The crash was reported at about 6 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 22.15 of the highway, which is in the general area of Big Tujunga Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Information on the gender and identity of the fatally injured person was not available. The vehicle caught fire, and the body was burned, according to the coroner's office.

Preliminary reports from the scene of the crash had indicated that two people had died, but that was not the case, Winter said.
