Body Found In Angeles Forest Highway Near La Cañada Flintridge

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A body was found Monday near Angeles Forest Highway in the Angeles National Forest north of La Canada Flintridge, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the highway at Mile Marker 24 about 12:15 p.m. discovered the body, according to the county fire department. Sheriff's deputies also went to the scene.

Information was not immediately available on the gender or age of the person, or the cause of death.

Investigators initially went to the scene on a report of a vehicle over the side, but no vehicle was found, according to the California Highway Patrol.
