Blog: La Canada Provides Holiday Spirit to Our Soldiers

La Canada Junior Women's Group worked with the La Canada High School Pep Squad to make 500 Holiday cards for our heroes in the armed services.

The La Canada High School Pep Squad and members of the La Canada Junior Women's Club created beautiful holiday cards to members of the armed forces, both overseas and for veterans at home.

Over 500 personalized cards were donated to the American Red Cross for their "Holiday Cards for Heroes" program. This American Red Cross program has been ongoing for over 40 years.

"This is a way that we can help facilitate our community to say thanks to the men and women in uniform, as well as, those who have already served their country," said Nancy Rappard from the La Canada Junior Women's Club.

Rappard asked members of the LC Pep Squad (her daughter Kate is on the Varsity Cheer squad) to participate in creating a colorful “touch of home” card for our troops during the holiday season.

Nancy Lim, Elle Kenwood, Claudia Weinstein, Roxanne Sevigny, Sofia Micalizio, Ashlyn Singelyn, Cheska Balarezo, Rachel Devine and Kate Rappard eagerly volunteered to make cards.
