Crime Blotter: Gas Pump Gets Pumped for Info

Gas Pump Pumped

A manager of the La Cañada Enterprises  in the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard  reported vanadlism to a pump had occured some time between 11 p.m. Feb. 2 and 6 a.m. Feb. 3. 

According to the incident report, unidentified suspects forced open the face of the pump's digital reader and snipped wires and components free.  Due to the nature of the damage, authorities believe that information from the digital reader had been extracted or the components  used to steal information from pumps at different locations.  Video surveillance cameras had not been fucntioning at the time of the incident.

Trunk Pilfered

A female victim reported that her 2010 Jaguar FX had been burglarized while parked at the Edwards Cinema lot on Verdugo Boulevard between 7:40 and 10:15 p.m., Feb. 2.

The victim said that she did not notice anything amiss until she returned home and opened the trunk of the vehicle, when she noticed that two tennis rackets, two checkbooks, a day planner and a bag filled with personal documents were missing.   Deputies reported no sign of forced entry, but the the victim said that she locked the car.

Petty Theft from Porch

A 43-year old female resident in the 4700 block of La Cañada Boulevard reported to deputies that a McLaren baby stroller, valued at $300, was stolen from the front porch of her house sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 8.  Victim stated that the stroller had been parked on the porch but noticed in the morning it had disappeared.
