Update: Body Found is Missing Man
Glendale Police identified the body as the Rancho Palos Verdes man missing since Thursday.
UPDATE Feb 8 7:46 a.m.: The Glendale Police Department has confirmed that the body found in the 1600 block of Glenoaks Boulevard in Glendale is Yoshiya Watanabe, the 57-year-old male who police were searching for.
''This appears to be a very unfortunate and tragic situation," Sgt. Tom Lorenz said in a statement.
According to police, Watanabe suffered from memory loss, seizures, hypertension and diabetes. Detectives on the case said that they do not suspect foul play, but they are still waiting for an official cause of death by the L.A. County Coroner.

Watanabe was first reported missing on Thursday. On Monday, Glendale Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, with assistance from Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station and the Montrose Search and Rescue team, scoured the hillsides of Glendale, between Chevy Chase and Scholl canyons. Authorities also used K-9s and bloodhounds, sniffing for any sign of Watanabe, Lorenz said.
Hikers found the man’s 2004 Mercedes Benz S-500 parked on a dirt road east of the canyon, Lorenz said. His body was discovered a short distance from there.
