The City of La Cañada Flintridge Youth Council is sponsoring a free Youth Self-Defense Class so youth, ages 8-13, can learn how to be safe in threatening situations. The instructor, Janet Goliger, has taught physical education since 1978. Ms. Goliger is a published author, a recipient of several teacher awards, and a black belt in karate.
Though this class emphasizes self-defense techniques, no pupil-pupil physical contact is used.
