Hit and Run Involving Moving Van Near Ocean View

Confrontation between moving crew and homeowner nearly results in homeowner being hit by van, deputies said.

Sheriff's deputies are looking for a moving van and its occupants after a homeowner was nearly run over at the end of a verbal argument Saturday morning.

The incident was reported at 11:02 a.m. in the 2200 block of Barton Lane, according to scanner reports. The moving van was reportedly from Starving Students Movers, Inc. and was hired by a homeowner across the street from where the incident occurred.

The van reportedly hit a type of pillar at a home and knocked it off its foundation, the van allegedly refused to stop. A verbal argument between the homeowner and moving crew ensued, according to Sergeant Debra Herman of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

As the van continued to move, the homeowner stepped in front of the vehicle and was almost run over, according to authorities. The moving van continued Southbound onto Ocean View Blvd. and out of sight.

The two men in the van are described as Black, about 30 years old, both about 6 feet tall, both wearing jeans and dark shirts with the name "Starving Students" on them.

The incident is still under investigation.
