La Cañada Flintridge Cat Shelter's Anonymous Donor Inspires Copy-Cat Generosity
"Got the inspiration last week — Please save the animals, for some of us it's all we have left," wrote an anonymous Humane Society donor.

PASADENA, CA — Days after a mystery benefactor dropped $8,000 in cash into a Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA donation box, another anonymous donor followed suit, quietly slipping the society another $2,000, officials said Tuesday.
According to the society, somebody called the organization Saturday and advised its staff to check the donation box. When staffers checked, they found a white envelope with $2,000 inside.
The anonymous gift came with a note, penned on a Starbucks napkin, that read: "Got the inspiration last week — Please save the animals, for some of us it's all we have left."

The note was an apparent reference to a headline-grabbing gift the Humane Society received last Wednesday. On that day, somebody walked into the society's Neely Cat Center and dropped $8,000 into a collection box. The donation came in the form of a pile of crisp-looking $20 bills.
