Community members will join city and school district representatives to study the area’s opportunities and limitations, share community perspectives and develop preliminary recommendations, officials said. The group will consider how the corridor can better serve students, residents and community organizations, with recommendations going to the City Council and District Governing Board for consideration.
“Collaborating with LCUSD on the Cornishon Corridor allows us to thoughtfully plan for the evolving needs of our students, families and residents,” Mayor Jeanne Kim Hobson said in a statement. “This Working Group will help identify new opportunities as the community works together to achieve a shared vision for the future.”
