Sticky Notes of Support Affixed to LCHS Lockers Monday
In a show of support, hot pink notes stuck to students' lockers at La Cañada High School Monday, the first day back to campus since Campbell Taylor fell to his death.
As classes resumed at La Cañada High School Monday, following the death of a student on campus, hot pink sticky notes of support greeted students on their lockers. The notes read "You are loved.''
La Cañada alumnus Hrag Yaghjian stopped by the school Monday to see how teachers and students were faring, after 17-year-old Campbell Taylor fell or jumped to his death Friday from a third-story walkway in the 7/8 building. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of his death, and have not made a determination whether it was suicide. Though initial police reports referred to the incident as an "apparent suicide.''
"The campus was quiet and gloomy,'' Yaghjian told Patch, adding, "I'm amazed by the wonderful educational family at the high school. Students that knew and didn't know Campbell all came together to remember the loss of one of their own. It showed how supportive, loving and encouraging this community truly is,'' said Yaghjian, who graduated last year.

An autopsy on Taylor is still pending, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Monday.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, hundreds of students, faculty and parents turned out for a memorial at the school, one which the students put together themselves.

The La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board will convene for its regular meeting on Tuesday. A new logo adorns the district website and a recent communique about support and crisis counseling: a black ribbon with white letters that reads "La Cañada High School'' on one side and "March 1, 2013,'' the day Taylor died, on the other.
Tueday night's agenda may be viewed here. It includes a first reading for comprehensive school safety plans. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m.
