Volunteers Sought For Thanksgiving Day Run And Food Drive

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — The Community Center is seeking volunteers for its 33rd annual Thanksgiving Day Run and Food Drive, featuring a 5K and Kids’ Mile starting at Olberz Park.

Volunteers can help with race bib and T-shirt pickup, event setup and cleanup, water stations, race-day registration and the food drive collection table, event organizers said. Other opportunities include distributing Kids’ Mile medals.

The 5K begins at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 26, followed by the Kids’ Mile at 9:30 a.m. Both races will be professionally timed.

Top finishers in each race will receive awards, and all Kids’ Mile participants will receive a medal.

The event, a local tradition for more than three decades, is the LCF Community Center’s largest annual fundraiser, organizers said.

"Proceeds will directly support the development of inclusive programs that serve the needs of all members of our surrounding communities," according to the center.

The food drive is ongoing throughout November, with donation bins at the center and other locations.

Registration for the run is available on the event's webpage along with information about the food drive.
