Woman Killed Glendale Metrolink Accident ID'd

Witnesses said the woman appeared to get in front of the train intentionally, police said.

GLENDALE, CA — Authorities on Monday identified a woman who was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Glendale, in what investigators said was an apparent suicide.

Ina Hoffman, 56, of Glendale died at the scene of her injury, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

She was struck about 8 p.m. Monday by a northbound train in the area of San Fernando Road and Doran Street, Glendale police Sgt. Robert William said. The train, which stopped after the woman was struck, was carrying passengers but no one aboard was injured, William said.
