22K+ South OC Residents Without Power Wednesday Night

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A power outage impacting more than 22,000 homes in South Orange County triggered upset in five cities Wednesday night.

The outage was reported at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday night and impacted roughly 22,525 serviced by SDG&E.

Cities impacted by the outage include: Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, south Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Capistrano Beach, according to SDG&E.

While the cause of the outage was unknown as of 9:24 p.m., SDG&E officials said that power should be restored by 11:30 p.m.
