8-Foot Waves Possible In Laguna Beach Wednesday: Surf Advisory

Swimmers and surfers alike were warned to stay away from the waves while the surf advisory is in effect.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach residents can expect a big surf this week, after the National Weather Service issued a high surf advisory Tuesday.

The high surf advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday, weather officials said.

The advisory comes after the NWS predicted that the Orange County coast would be hit with large breaking waves of four to six feet, with occasional sets of seven to eight feet.

The high surf will create dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, as well as localized beach erosion, NWS said.
