Aliso Creek Bridge Renamed For Fallen LBPD Officer Jon Coutchie
A crowd of dignitaries gathered to remember the Laguana Beach Police Officer killed in the line of duty on Sept. 21, 2013.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA β The Aliso Creek Bridge was renamed in honor of fallen Laguna Beach Police Officer Jon Coutchie Thursday.
The ceremony honored the life and legacy of the LBPD officer who was killed on duty when his motorcycle crashed while pursuing a reckless driver in Laguna Beach.
βBy naming the Aliso Bridge in honor of Laguna Beach Police Officer Jon Coutchie, we continue his legacy, honor his family and his name, and ensure no one forgets his sacrifice to this community,β Laguna Beach Mayor Bob Whalen said.

The City of Laguna Beach, the Laguna Beach Police Department, and State Senator Janet Nguyen were on hand to share their support.

Nguyen released a statement regarding the sacrifice made by Coutchie for his city and his family.

"Caring for our communities and honoring those who selflessly serve within them, such as Officer Jon Coutchie, reminds us of the enduring strength and resilience that bind us together in times of challenge and loss," she said. "Their dedication inspires us to come together and work towards a brighter and safer future for everyone."
The Officer Jon Coutchie Memorial Bridge is located at 31122 Coast Highway.
