• Man Charged With Raping Woman In Laguna Beach, Police Say (patch.com) — Residents in Laguna Beach are being informed that a 19-year-old man has been charged with multiple felony counts after allegedly drugging and raping a woman in town last Friday. He has pleaded not guilty, is being held on $100,000 bail, and is due back in court this Friday as police and prosecutors continue their ongoing investigation.    

• School board reviews community bond survey 041426 (stunewslaguna.com) — Laguna Beach Unified officials just reviewed a new community survey showing strong support for an $83 million school bond that would extend the current tax rate without raising it. With voter backing appearing promising, the board now has until early August to decide whether to place the measure on the 2026 ballot, potentially funding major classroom and facility upgrades across local schools.    

• Navy Team Provides Initial Care to Artemis II Crew (militaryspot.com) — A Navy emergency physician from Laguna Beach, Lt. Cmdr. Jesse Wang, played a key role in medically assessing the Artemis II astronauts moments after their splashdown off San Diego. He and three fellow Navy dive medical specialists trained for years to be the first-contact caregivers inside the Orion capsule, helping safely transition the crew from the ocean to follow-up care aboard the USS John P. Murtha.
