Weather forecast:
1. Person, Pup Trapped In SUV After Ravine Crash In Laguna Beach (patch.com) — Emergency crews in Laguna Beach rescued a driver and a small dog after an SUV plunged into a ravine and landed in a creek off El Toro Road. Laguna Beach police, park rangers, and a local towing company worked together to extricate the occupants and recover the vehicle, highlighting coordinated local response to a serious crash.
2. A Popular Coastal Town In Orange County Has Moved To Ban E-Z UPs And Volleyball Nets On The Beach Ahead Of Summer: What To Know Before Memorial Day (secretlosangeles.com) — Laguna Beach may soon ban E‑Z UPs, large tables, and unapproved volleyball nets on local beaches, with enforcement starting Memorial Day if council approves the ordinance April 28. The proposal also tightens rules on shade structures and sets new summer surf‑only and shared swim‑surf zones, including a daily surf‑only window at Aliso Beach. Plan ahead before packing for the sand this summer.
3. Laguna Beach Free Daily Trolley Guide Thursday April 23 2026 (southocbeaches.com) — Laguna Beach’s free daily trolley is running now with detailed hours and stops from North Laguna and Heisler Park through downtown to South Laguna and Dana Point. Residents can also use off-season on-demand transit through late June 2026, with online tracking available and schedules subject to change, making it a convenient car-free option for dining, shopping, and beach trips.
4. Public Outcry After Trees Removed on Forest Avenue (lagunabeachindy.com) — Nine mature trees along Forest Avenue’s Promenade project were removed overnight after two arborists warned Laguna Beach officials they posed a serious safety risk due to failing root systems. The sudden change shocked many residents, who questioned the lack of public input, but the city says replacement eucalyptus and other trees will be properly replanted before the Promenade opens in June.
