According to city officials, police issued a notification regarding a double-rescue happening Saturday afternoon near Aliso Creek and Pacific Coast Highway.

A 15-year-old girl and a 48-year-old woman were both found at the scene unconscious in the water, police said.

"What wasn't reported was that my mom suffered a heart attack while she was in the water," daughter Amanda Trinh wrote on GoFundMe. "By the grace of God and the incredible lifeguards, first responders and medical teams who fought to save her, she survived."

Amanda's mother, Ty Tran, is currently receiving care at Mission Hospital under "close monitoring."

"Her medical team is waiting for her troponin levels to come down before she can be transferred to her home hospital at Scripps," she said.

A GoFundMe account was posted to benefit the family, with all proceeds going toward hospital care, medications, prolonged visits and more.
