LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Do you want to be a part of a bigger change?
In honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day, the Laguna Ocean Foundation — in coordination with the Laguna Beach Police Department and more — is hosting a beach cleanup at Aliso Beach Sept. 19.
Residents interested in volunteering were urged to bring the following items:
Attending residents will meet out at the park near Aliso Creek by 9 a.m. and look for Laguna Ocean Foundation flags and EZ Ups to check-in for cleanup registration.
According to the Laguna Ocean Foundation, California Coastal Cleanup Day brings awareness to the state's marine debris problem and provides a community event for direct involvement.
The statewide action is organized every September by the California Coastal Commission.
In Laguna Beach, however, the Laguna Ocean Foundation and the City of Laguna Beach Police Department are site hosts and organize cleanup day events every year.
