The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Friday, Oct. 2 through 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 for all Orange County cities, including Laguna Beach.

For the most part, Laguna Beach residents can expect daytime temperatures in the high-80s to the low-90s.

Nights are also expected to be warmer than usual, with temperatures ranging from the mid-to-low 70s.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service advised. "Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes."

Laguna Beach residents can beat the heat by visiting any one of the city's free cooling centers.

Residents can stop by the Laguna Beach Community & Recreation Center this weekend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

During the week, residents can visit the center, located at 30516 South Coast Highway, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, residents can stop by the Laguna Beach Community & Susi Q Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
