LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach residents should remain wary of the waves, after yellow-flag surf was predicted to hit the coast through the weekend.
Laguna Beach Marine Safety Chief Kai Bond took to social media to inform residents of what to expect while visiting Laguna beaches this weekend.
According to Bond, residents can expect warmer temperatures and waves of up to six feet.
"We're expecting a lot of people to come to the beach, but we have a couple reminders," Bond said.
Residents were urged to check in with a lifeguard prior to entering the water while visiting Laguna beaches.
"It's really important that you swim in front of those lifeguard towers, and you check in with them — with the conditions before you enter," Bond said.
Residents were also advised to keep off of the berms built on Main Beach.
In addition, Bond reminded residents that while the beaches remain open, certain access points are closed.
Access points including Agate Street, Christmas Cove, Pearl Street and the Aliso Beach Parking Lot are subject to closure, Bond said.
