Arrests Made During Laguna Beach DUI Checkpoint

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The streets of Laguna Beach are a little safer, after the Laguna Beach Police Department held a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint and saturation patrol on Friday, June 14.
The checkpoint was held between 8:40 p.m. and 1:40 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Laguna Beach. According to the department, officers greeted 535 drivers, arrested six DUI-alcohol suspects and handed out 21 citations during the checkpoint.

According to the department, officers will likely hold another checkpoint sometime in the next three months.
The checkpoint was held with the support of officers from the California Highway Patrol, Newport Beach Police Department, Costa Mesa Police Department, Buena Park Police Department and California State Parks.
