This attorney works for free

Leslie Bigler Lindgren, a respected Orange County attorney, has joined the nonprofit legal aid firm Seaside Legal Services.

Lindgren served for nine years at the Public Law Center in Santa Ana where she was the senior lead attorney. She continues her advocacy work in support of low-income Orange County residents as a member of the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Orange County Community Clinics (COCCC), of which the Laguna Beach Community Clinic is a member. At the Laguna Beach clinic, Lindgren started a free legal clinic in 1997, where she continues to provide free counsel to its patients. She is vice chair of the Orange County HIV Planning Council, secretary for HD-CARE, which addresses Huntington’s disease, and a member of the North Orange County Seniors Collaborative. Lindgren has focused her legal practice on the problems of low-income individuals and those living with serious medical conditions. Her practice areas include health, benefits, estate planning, and disability rights.

Lindgren was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980 from UCLA School of Law. At the Public Law Center, she was in charge of medical-legal partnerships with St. Joseph’s Health System and CHOC Children’s Hospital, the AIDS Legal Assistance Project, and related work. She is the founder of Orange County Medical-Legal Partnerships, Inc. and a partner in Lindgren Lindgren, Oehm & You, LLP of Irvine and greater New Jersey.

Seaside Legal Services was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2013 by Laguna Beach attorney A. Jane Fulton to provide experienced, high-quality legal services free of charge to South Orange County residents. Clients who prove economic hardship can access assistance with cases involving civil matters including divorce, child custody, bankruptcy, wills and trusts, healthcare billing, and tenant-landlord disputes.

The nonprofit holds a free legal clinic on the second Monday of each month at the Susi Q Senior Center in Laguna Beach, where cash-strapped senior clients may seek free legal help.
