Laguna Beach Police Nab Suspect in Fatal Hit and Run
Laguna Beach police arrested a San Clemente man suspected of driving away after hitting and killing a 23-year-old man on PCH.

UPDATED: A man was found dead in the roadway on Pacific Coast Highway just before 3 a.m. New Year’s Day, and the suspected hit and run driver was serendipitously arrested minutes later today in Laguna Beach.
Travis Marton, 23, of Valencia was found dead on Highway 1 near the Newport Coast Drive signal, said Newport Beach police Sgt. Brandon Rodriguez.
The department put out an alert, and within 10 minutes Laguna Beach police said they had the suspect, already pulled over for some other infraction, according a police report from Newport Beach.

“Coincidentally, a vehicle was stopped by the Laguna Beach Police Department with front end damage,” Rodriguez said.
Ronald Lloyd Aviles, 56, of San Clemente, was arrested for suspicion of felony hit and run and booked at the Newport Beach Department’s Jail Facility. His bail was set at $50,000, according to the news statement.
