Choose a Bloodhound as Your Laguna Beach Real Estate Agent

What does it take to find to a home in today's scarce market? Laguna Beach realtor Hillary Caston reveals why your real estate agent must be both business professional and bloodhound.

I keep saying to myself, “Where have all the Laguna Beach properties gone?” I’m telling you, there’s a real scarcity of Laguna Beach homes for sale.

You see, the real estate market bottomed out in January. And now banks are shrewdly clinging to their inventory, knowing they’ll get juicier prices in the next three months.

Naturally, sellers know they’ve got a hot commodity that will only get hotter. The irony is, buyers with money are pouring into the market ... but no properties! The way I see it, there’s only one solution—choose a bloodhound as your Laguna Beach real estate agent, someone with the tenacity to sniff out the hidden morsels. Because that is the only way you’ll find anything in this barren desert.

Why The Coastal Property Experts Are Bloodhounds:

  • Great Knockers! Doors, that is. I myself have been pounding the pavement, knocking on door after door to find homes that meet the criteria of my clients. One resident told me she had been visited by seven other agents with the same desperate plea for properties.

Believe me, knocking gets results. Like the 1,400-square-foot designer cottage I discovered for my client. The seller wants $1,450,000—over $1,000 per square foot for a property with no ocean view. And they’ll get it! I’m telling you, in a matter of months, we’ve jumped back into a red-hot bull market!

  • Wide Reach. We bloodhounds contact every agent in the known universe, searching for ‘pocket listings’. These are for-sale homes not ‘officially’ listed on the marketplace. A wave of phone calls also go out to listing agents, hitting them with questions like: Do you have any past clients who want to sell, downsize, have had children move out (or you’d like moved out)?
  • Quick Exchange Artist. If my client doesn’t want a certain home I’ve sniffed out, I’ll offer it to another agent. The hope is that said agent will exchange this favor for another in the near future.
  • Beg Master. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do, right? And sometimes that means sending out a plea far and wide to everyone and anyone who can connect you with a home for your buyer. Almost everyone I meet is a target for my two favorite questions: Want to sell your home? Know anyone who does?

No doubt about it. It’s next to impossible to find any Laguna Beach home for sale these days. That’s why you want a powerhouse team who can dig deep for the rare opportunities. Contact The Coastal Property Experts today to schedule your complimentary consultation.
