Catharine Cooper's on Laguna Beach Patch!

New times.  New venue.  New blog!

First thoughts are for sure about the weather ... I mean, really. What is this grey thing we've got going?  I'm calling it September Sludge .. and I sure wish it would just .. go go away.  Seems like the sun has been sneaking out for maybe an hour - just before sunset.  My tan is severly faded.  My idea of shorts and a t-shirt compromised.  Even Buster-dog is having hair issues.

Did get in some good SUP fun with friend Alan Cook this week.  We paddled out from Brooks Street and found ourselves circled by seals of all sizes/shapes/ages who were even more curious of us than we of them.  Playful and coy.
Beyond the seals, the Royal Terns have returned.  In case you don't know them, they are the very regal looking birds that migrate through Laguna in the fall and spring.  Usually, I'll catch sight of a few down on the rocks below Crescent Bay Park.  This weekend, they could be found floating on the thick kelp beds that have flourished this summer.

In any case, I'm here on the Patch to have some fun, mix up various thoughts, challenge pre-conceived ideas, and romp through life and it's vagaries.

Hope you'll join me.  Chat with me.  Let me know what you're thinking.  We all have so much to share.

Catharine
