Brief Reprieve In Laguna Beach: Photo Of The Day

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — With a bracing heat wave smothering Southern California, the unusually high heat can leave residents feeling like there is no end of summer in sight.

Last week however, a local resident enjoyed a brief reprieve from the staunch temperatures at Heisler Park.

Local photographer Marshall Aren was enjoying an early morning walk through Heisler Park with his dog, Cooper, when he captured this photo.

"After days and days of suffocating heat and humidity, it was amazing to feel a nice, cool breeze as I walked Cooper through Heisler Park," Marshall told Patch. "The steady marine layer gray that's been around was replaced by a glorious early-morning sky."

"Cooper was happy because his walk was much longer than the shortened versions he's been getting when we ventured out into the heat," he said.
