Brooks Street Crosswalk Temporary Road Closure, Transit Detours

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Improvements to the Brooks Street crosswalk were just a part of the city's plan to increase pedestrian safety. On Thursday, Caltrans was finalizing the installation of the in-road warning lights and flashing beacons at Brooks Street crosswalk on Coast Highway.

To install the flashing beacons, South Coast Highway was briefly closed around 11:30 a.m.

Traffic detours had driver's avoid South Coast Highway during that time.

Detours were also in effect for transit riders of the Bluebird Canyon trolley on Thursday. Riders of that Blubird Canyon Route were told to expect detours all day.
