Cause Discovered in Laguna Beach Emerald Bay House Fire
A house fire in Laguna Beach's Emerald Bay community left a homeowner displaced on Tuesday night. The cause of the fire was revealed by OCFA

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — An Emerald Bay house fire left a family displaced on Tuesday when a kitchen fire started on the stove, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz. Fire departments from both Laguna Beach Fire and Newport Beach Fire Department reported to the scene on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at just before 6:15 p.m.
"The fire began with food on the stove, and was transmitted through the kitchen cabinets and into the attic and roof," Kurtz said.
The home was yellow tagged due to damage sustained in the fire, according to Kurtz. No one was injured in the blaze that was knocked down within approximately 20 minutes.

Investigators released that the damages from the fire resulted in $150,000 to the structure and $50,000 in contents destroyed.
