Celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Pretend City is dedicated to providing an environment for children to experience new cultures and learn to appreciate diversity. Celebrating Cinco de Mayo is a chance to honor the memory and bravery of the Mexican soldiers who fought for their country. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the culture of Mexico itself. Today’s activities will share just a few common traditions of this Mexican holiday:

Smart Art: Amate Art is traditional Mexican folk art that is typically painted on the bark of fig trees. Today your children will be inspired by this art to create their very own.

Music & Movement: Mexican Hat Dance will be a great time! Children will get to see a performance of the traditional hat dance and then participate in their own dance.

Symbols In a Second: P is for Pinata will educate children about this Mexican tradition through an interactive video and fun pull-the-pinata activity!

Have your child say “hello” in Spanish at the front desk and they’ll receive $1.00 off of general admission!
