Chemical Leak Causes Temporary Ride Closures at Disneyland
A small chemical leak prompted the theme park to close a handful of rides during the cleanup Wednesday.
A small chemical leak at Disneyland this afternoon prompted theme park officials to temporarily close a few rides as it was cleaned up, police said.
Police were called at 1:30 p.m. regarding a leak of muriatic acid in a water filtration plant backstage, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. That chemical is commonly used to clean swimming pools, he said.
No one was injured or had to be evacuated, and the theme park remained open, Wyatt said.
