Chieli Minucci and Special EFX Performs at the Festival of Arts Saturday August 8
Concerts on the Green Series features Grammy Nominated Performers
The popular Concert on the Green music series, sponsored in part by Cambria Estate Winery, continues at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts on Saturday, August 8th from 1–2:30pm. Guitarist, composer and arranger Chieli Minucci is the longtime leader of Grammy nominated contemporary jazz group Special EFX. Joining their performance at the Festival of Arts will be special guest saxophonist Marion Meadows.
Combining Latin and African rhythms with the light textures of contemporary jazz, Chieli Minucci and Special EFX have emerged as one of the most prominent world fusion groups of the past 30 years. Besides writing and performing his own music, Chieli shares his guitar brilliance throughout the entertainment world. He has recorded and performed with many top artists, such as Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Lopez, Jewel, Mark Anthony, Anastasia, and many others. Chieli Minucci released his 30th anniversary CD in 2013.
“Chieli Minucci and Special EFX have been stars of the contemporary jazz world for over three decades,” said Susan Davis, director of special events for the Festival of Arts. “We’re honored to have them perform as part of our Concert on the Green series!”

Chieli Minucci and Special EFX with special guest Marion Meadows will perform on Saturday, August 8th from 1 – 2:30pm on stage at the Festival green. Guests may also enjoy featured wines from Cambria Estate Winery including “Katherine’s Vineyard” Chardonnay and “Julia’s Vineyard” Pinot Noir. Concerts on the Green are free with Festival of Arts Admission. Limited seating available in reserved section for $25 per person per concert. Includes Festival admission. Call (800) 487-3378.
