City Closes Escrow On Affordable Artist Housing

Two properties designated for artist living and work spaces were purchased by the City of Laguna Beach.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The City of Laguna Beach just marked a new real estate addition.

Two properties designated for artist living and work spaces were recently purchased by the city.

The purchase follows the formation of the Laguna Beach Community Land Trust, which is aimed at supporting local artists and workforce.

"We are thrilled to see this project come to fruition" Mayor Mark Orgill said. "These properties represent more than just buildings; they are spaces where creativity will thrive and where our artists can live and work in the heart of our beautiful city."

The initiative is a part of a broader effort to make sure that affordable housing and working environments for artists, seniors and essential workers is available for community members.
