Community Grant Applications Open In Laguna Beach: How To Apply

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Local Laguna Beach non-profit organizations will soon benefit from Community Assistance Grants. According to a city spokesperson, the program makes grant funds available to local non-profit organizations that provide special services to Laguna Beach residents.

"The city of Laguna Beach awarded $250,000 in grants for the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to the city. This grant period is for the 2024-25 fiscal year, the city said.

In the 2023-24 fiscal year, the largest grant allotment was awarded to the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, which received $25,000 in grant funds. The following highest amount awarded went to No Square Theater, which received $24,000 in grant allowances. Laguna Beach Seniors, Inc. received $19,000 in funds. The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach was awarded $15,000; Also receiving $15,000 was Laguna Beach Live! as did La Playa Center. KX 93.5 LB Radio Inc. received $13,000 for their programs. Other awards included the Laguna Food Pantry, which received $12,500 in funds, and the Laguna Canyon Foundation received $10,000 in funding. Numerous other organizations claimed grants between $9,000 and $500.

The full community grant allotment for the past three fiscal years is available for review online.

The Community Assistance Grant Application period opened Monday and will remain open until the end of the day on March 21, according to the city council. The council will decide which new projects or expanded services will be awarded with the grants.

How to Apply

The application process for FY 2024-2025 will open on January 8, 2024 with the deadline to submit applications on March 21, 2024. To apply this year, please click here.

The City Council designates two Councilmembers to form a subcommittee to review the applications. The full City Council will review the subcommittee's requests as part of its Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget hearings.

Grant applications must be submitted electronically.

  • In evaluating applications, consideration will be given to the following:
  • Local non-profit organizations with functioning programs.
  • Projects and services which provide the greatest benefit in meeting the needs of Laguna Beach residents.
  • New and/or expanded services not currently being provided to Laguna Beach residents.
